Back to the release items..
- Traffic Source Quality: I had blogged about it a few days ago. Click here to read more about it. The feature has been available for the last 2-3 versions, but, it did not get featured otherwise.
- Auto re-index: There is a new setting in the "Knowledgebase" page that allows you to toggle between monthly auto indexing of pages or manually indexing them as before. Of course, even if you set the indexing to monthly, you can manually index pages as well if required. This would be from your quota of re-indexes and webpages. There are two main reasons why we see this useful:
- While you might be updating your website, updating the knowledgebase on Illumea maybe something that is easy to forget. Setting up an auto re-index will keep the knowledgebase up to date
- We see users not utilizing the quota for webpages and re-indexes. So, this setting helps you utilize the plan features more effectively
- Improvements to spam filtering: Fighting spam is not easy and while we want to keep the chatbot as open as possible for customers, spam pollutes the data and adds a lot of clutter. Over the last few versions, we have been making several improvements and fixes to this and we will continue to do so. With current filters, we are able to block at least 75-80% of the spam, saving a lot of cost for our customers.
- UI improvements: This release also has a few UI improvements:
- Pulse is now a part of the analytics page, so Growth+ users now have it as a tab right on the page rather than a new application opening. This helps to correlate conversations better.
- Side navigation gets a toggle. This was a feature even I wanted to add for a long time! You can now expand/collapse the side navigation bar giving to more space for the conversations and data
- Side navigation has also been cleaned up and restructured a bit for better categorization of items and improving the user friendliness
- Minor tweaks and subtle improvements have been made all round. They are minor but help improving consumption of all that data that you see on the dashboard
- Security Vulnerabilities: While we didn't have to worry about the critical PHP vulnerabilities, our automations did pickup on a few vulnerabilities on NextJS and some of the packages. These get automatically patched and verified automatically and manually. There was a brief downtime for a few minutes due to our hosting provider's Linux patching last month.
What's next?
- A couple of improvements to auto re-index feature
- Updates to Intelligence Reports
- Workflows and life cycles
- Also, we have a few things in the plan focused around children and education. More on that later!
